With the financial and material support of the sponsors listed below, DDA is able to conduct sightseeing flights with the historic DC-3 Dakota “Princess Amalia.” The sightseeing flights are open to the public, allowing many thousands of people to experience what flying was like in the 1930s.
Sponsor

After several years, the Royal Schiphol Group is back as a sponsor of the DDA Classic Airlines Foundation. In doing so, she underscores the importance of preserving mobile cultural heritage and the airworthiness of an iconic aircraft.

The Mondriaan Fund supported DDA in obtaining the AOC and increasing the familiarity, visibility and accessibility of the DC-3 Dakota PH-PBA to the Dutch public. In the summer of 2022, an application was made for financial support for the “digitalization cockpit” project. This is installing GPS equipment. The request was granted and the conversion is scheduled for winter 23/24.

The Prince Bernhard Culture Fund has also pledged to financially support DDA in converting the cockpit to digital equipment. This allows the DC-3 to be equipped with modern navigation and communications equipment.
Partner
Flying the DC-3 Dakota is accomplished by the DDA in cooperation with professional partners. This joining of forces enables DDA’s completely unique product to be offered in accordance with internationally recognized regulations.
The necessary permits, inspections and enforcement are regulated by law. DDA Flight Support Foundation and Hangar One are both certified aviation companies supported by DDA Classic Airlines experts.
DDA Flight Support Foundation
Operates in accordance with European regulations and the Historic Aviation Regulations and has all permits to do so from IL&T. An AOC with a commercial license was applied for in the winter of 2018/2019. Since 2019, DDA has been flying under this permit, so the barriers posed by the Historic Aviation Regulations have been removed.
Jet Aviation Company
For the handling of our Dakota flights from Schiphol Airport and Rotterdam Airport, we may use the facilities of JetAviation Company (formerly KLM Jet Center).
Sodexo
Sodexo supports DDA Classic Airlines in the area of facility management and facilitated the relocation from Lelystad to Schiphol-East in 2021.
