In late 2013, the Foundation board decided to concentrate on operating DC-3 Dakota ‘s.
Therefore, goodbye was said to the DC-4. The DC-4 that has been sitting unused at the Cape Town airport in South Africa for several years will be sold to the Flying Dutchman Foundation. This keeps the device in Dutch hands. The second DC-4 that has been on display for years on the grounds of Aviodrome in Lelystad is being sold to the new owner and operator of the Aviodrome Aviation Museum.
