Whether the only airworthy Dakota can still fly in 2023 is uncertain. Because the sponsorship contract with Jumbo Supermarkets BV will expire after 6 years, without a new sponsor it seems almost impossible to offer round trips again next year.
\nThis also means that the DDA Classic Airlines Foundation, the volunteer organization that keeps the PH-PBA flying,
\nmust stop after 40 years. In doing so, the Dutch historical flying heritage not only loses a unique
\naircraft, but also a particularly skilled organization, which made this first Royal Government aircraft airworthy
\nholds and operates the flights.
\nEvery year, hundreds of aviation enthusiasts book a sightseeing flight for an unforgettable experience with this
\nhistoric Dakota DC-3.<\/p>\n

Chairman Feije Jaski: “For the continued existence of this special organization, it is very important that DDA<\/em>
\nis now getting help from supporters of historic aviation in general and of the Dakota in particular.<\/em>
\nThe accessibility of the only airworthy Dakota in the Netherlands is at stake.<\/em>
\nThe aircraft is in excellent condition and the organization with more than 120 dedicated volunteers stands<\/em>
\nlike a house. If the Netherlands wants to preserve this unique aircraft as a flying heritage, we have a sum of money<\/em>
\nof 100,000, – euros is needed.<\/em>
\nTo that end, we are happy to engage with anyone who is willing and able to help us.<\/em><\/p>\n
